On 9 June 2019, some of us from the Punggol CC YEC went down to take part in the Community Appreciation Night 2019 organised by Punggol CC Constituency Office.
I am happy to share that Punggol CC YEC has also clinched the best outreach award for our PAYM Loves Red @ Community YouthSpark 2018 event.
Thank you team!
On 4-Aug-2018, after multiple months of hardwork, the first Project Ignite 2018’s project from Punggol CC YEC The Punggol CC Youth Club has started executing the first project – PAYM Loves Red 2018 – Food Collection and Distribution Drive @ BRP. The group of student leaders gathered youth and adult volunteers and navigated around Bedok Reservior Punggol to collect canned, packed food from residents. The food is then being sorted and will be distributed to needy residents in the weeks to come as part of our National Day Package to the families.
I am happy to share that students from Holy Innocents’ High School ( HIHS @hihs_official ) has won several awards in the PAYM SLC Festival 2017. I was present to witness the ceremony. Minister Ong Ye Kung was the GOH for that afternoon. He presented the awards and specially mentioned the good work done by the students from HIHS in his speech. Phoebe and Jaynielle have both won the STAR Individual Award and Project Dough (2016) as well as Community YOUthSparks (2016) have clinched silver and gold team award respectively! The students from the Service Learning Club had organised the project themselves as part of their Service Learning Project together with Punggol CC YEC under Project Ignite 2016!
The Service Learning Club members work closely with the YECs to understand the needs of the community and implement projects that will benefit the community.
Looking forward for Project Ignite 2018!
Together with Holy Innocents’ High School, Punggol CC YEC co-organised Teens Conference 2017 in Holy Innocents’ High School today. This is the 3rd year that we have collaborated with HIHS and happy to have student leaders from various schools of Singapore coming together to make a change.
NECDC Mayor Mr Desmond Choo was present together with us and Cheng Lei moderated a panelist discussion. I was tagged to Mayflower Secondary School and they worked on the topic – Migrant Workers. The students went around the community collecting notes of thanks and encouragement for the migrant workers. They also presented their work when they returned back to school.
Below are some of the photos that I have taken.
