Important VS Urgent

A lot people had asked me before, how do I manage my position at IFSZ as support staff, my wushu trainings (which is 6 times + a week), school and my online stuffs. I never knew how to answer them as I don’t have a definate answer at all only until today when Mr Simen Lourds, Prinicpal of Montfort Secondary School, gave a speech.

He gave us a simple 4 sided square but I edited it a bit as I didn’t really like it but anyway the idea behind it is the same. The world is all about relativity. When there is a plus, there is a minus so when you can be urgent, you can be not urgent and likewise when something can be important, it also can be not important. Lets make thing simple. Lets just divide our task into 4 simple catergories

  1. Important
  2. Not Important
  3. Urgent
  4. Not Urgent

It had to fall in either 1 and 3 or 1 and 4 or 2 and 3 or 2 and 4. So to make things easier. It will be something like this.

After dividing our task, we should always do the important and urgent tasks first followed by important and not urgent one. It has been illusioned in the figure above. The number in red shows which we should do first and as followed.

When you know what is important in life, you can save a lot of time by doing those important stuffs first.

Oh, by the way, reading this blog is important and urgent.

Have a good day.
