April 17th, 2008Temasek Week Zero Camp

Never went for TP’s FOW, FOC but there is this camp that I went to… well its the TP’s week zero orientation camp. I am in ITO from the IIT School. Well its was quite fun and get to know 19 more new classmates and also hopefully know my 139 other course-mates. Met our OLs which I believe they are from Student Union?

We have a nightwalk whereby we have to find clues and “apples” at different rooms or corridors of the schools. I can really see how hard and how much effort our organisers have placed into making this a successful one. Our first room, the 6th floor of the engineering block is the most scary one and I think it is also the best.. ( It was also our first station. )

Yea!!!! Three Cheers and three cheers and three cheers to our OLs! hip hip-huarry hip hip-huarry hip hip-huarry. Haha, I am still in the cheering state. It was so fun, and you really feel relax… its really a school full of laughters, fun and some NC16 cheers.

Oh yea, I am in the class of C195.

April 15th, 2008Unavailable

I will be unavailable for the next 36 hours because I am going to Temasek Poly for camp… well orientation camp. My second camp in my whole entire life… Should be fun!!! haha

Day 7
Had our last breakfast at the Shen Zhen’s Di Hao hotel then we set off to Hong Kong in the afternoon. We were “stuck” at the customs for so long because all the “Nei Di” people all going to the competition as well. Lucky, due the the organizer’s effort in making going through custom easy. I am not sure how but we were given a special route to go to Hong Kong but of course, we still have to go through the custom.. Haha.. I remember it is so tiring because we have to pull our luggage up and down.. I really mean up and really down…. Reach Hong Kong and we took their MRT to “Da Xue” station before we were taken to the Hotel by their shutter bus service.

Day 8-12
I can’t believe I am summaring all into 1 whole section because I forget what happen there… eh… I just remember it is so tiring. I have to do Chang Quan followed by Spear then Sword that day WITHIN 20 minutes!!!! Thats one of the bad point of the competition but I am so surprised that other people aren’t tired when they are also doing 3 routines in such a short time.

Results of Wufang’s Male Athlete
Hao Meng: 2 golds
Jun An: 1 Silver, 1 Bronze
Guo Hong, 1 Gold, 2 Silvers.

I got gold for my spear and silvers for my quan and sword.

We went to “Wang Jiao” and walk. Its so much fun there and the things there are quite…. cheap and expensive. The shirts are all so unique. I wish I have bought more money there to buy shirts… sigh..

There is a wushu performance by the organizer and a few team like the Philippine team performed a skit on the last day before the whole event closed. Our team also won the 1st runner up overall champion in our category.

Reached Singapore at around 11pm.

Day 5
Our last day of training in Shen Zhen before we head to Hong Kong to compete. We didn’t have a morning run but me and Crystella make it a point to wake up early to run. Jun An wanted to tag along but due to his injury. He can only walk. We still eat breakfast at the same old place. We have double training today again. During the second training, we have some “exchange” with the students over there. Have quite some fun and taken some photos but we didn’t exchange numbers though.

Day 6

Our last day in Shen Zhen, we have a whole day in Shen Zhen if I wasn’t mixed up with the dates. My memory is falling on me and I forget what happen.. Haha

Day 3
2nd day of training in Shen Zhen and this is the first day we saw the Shen Zhen Ti Gong’s wushu team. We were informed that we are unable to use all their carpet because The Shen Zhen’s team is coming to train on Monday. ( Only on Monday ). We didn’t have our morning run though and we took taxi to the training ground. I still remember, Coach Zhou and her team was the first to take taxi there and Coach Xue with us are the last team yet we are the first team to arrive there while Coach Zhou was the last team to arrive. This is the first time we see them training. They have a 11 year old girl.. She does Nan Quan and she is doing well for her age. We were all quite amazed by what she can do. Had our morning training and had a VERY VERY VERY bad lunch. It just sucks.. Had our second training in the afternoon before we return back. I remember we were playing soccer as to warm up ourself.

Day 4
3rd Day of training in Shen Zhen. We resume our morning run because we are so restless during breakfast yesterday. The run seems like shorter and the weather not as cold anymore. Perhaps, we have already get used to the weather. We only have one training today and I remember the training was quite bad because we were really too tired already. In the afternoon, we went back to hotel to have a rest while some went elsewhere. We then went to “Dong Men” at night. It was so cold there at night. I bought some keychains, shoes and handphone thingy. We have had a good night sleep.

It will be a pretty long post if I put all my daily encounter into 1 post so I decide to cut them into different parts. I am typing this to keep it for my own record so I will have a memory in the future. There is no need for you to read it. :)

Before flying:
I am flying off on the Saturday morning, ( 1st March ) and if I were to take taxi there. It will cost me a bomb ( mid-night charge :P ) and hence I decide to stay over at Hao Meng’s house and his dad will bring us to the airport together. I met Hao Meng on Friday night and we went to the airport at around 4.30am in the morning. Reached and saw a group of RP students and Jun An there. Coach Xue and Coach Zhou along with Chu Quan and Crystella has not reached yet. They are pretty late though but we manage to check in before time. It was the first time I took an aeroplane. We took Cathay Pacific and reached Hong Kong. The service on the plane was good. Its just like what Yao De told me. You are treated like a King. The only complain I have is that the place on the plane is just too small.. I have a hard time sleeping. haha

Day 1
Day 1 start officially when we landed on Hong Kong airport. Its quite nice to be there seeing another country but we didn’t manage to stay at the airport for long as we are going to take a bus to the custom of China and Hong Kong. We took a photo at the Hong Kong airport. I will show you when I got all my photos arranged. The bus ride is so long that a lot of us fall asleep. We reached the Hong Kong custom soon and after we enter the custom, we got stop by the Hong Kong police ( thanks to our LONG weapon which make it so obvious that we are bringing weapon to Shen Zhen…. ). Its about Lunch time now and we are a bit hungry. After we show them the letter from Singapore Police stating the reason of us bringing weapon, we are allowed to go. From what I heard, its a bit ironic.. The letter is in English and the Hong Kong police has problem understanding the letter and he got one of us to “translate” it for them. The air is so fresh in Shen Zhen although there are so many cars there… perhaps, its due to the cold weather? Reach Shen Zhen’s “Di Hao Jiu Dian” and yeah.. we rest on that day. Had our dinner at the restaurant in the hotel… The taste of the food is just BAD… Later a group of us went for us massage.. Had my body relaxed. :) Me , Jun An and Hao Meng sleep in the same room.

Day 2
The first day where we have our training. We were all waken by the morning call to wake up at around 6.30am to have a morning jog. Its about a 2km run.. We didn’t manage to sweat much because the weather is just too cool. If I were to run without a jacket, I will freeze till I die… Its just cold.. After the run, we went to train on our routine in the park and soon we went back to the hotel to have our breakfast. The breakfast taste SO MUCH better than the dinner last night. I like the “Char Siew Bao” and the Porridge a lot. We then went to the training place by bus. A rental bus. The training place is empty as it is on Sunday and there isn’t anyone who train on Sunday there. There are 5 carpets where we can use there. Trained on our basics and started to train on our routines. Had our lunch at a foodcourt nearby and went back to the training ground to have a nap there before the second training. We were totally drained out after the second training. Wei Liang, captain of RP Wushu IG, fainted and were sent a hospital. Had our dinner at the same restaurant where we have our breakfast before we went for a walk nearby. This conclude the second day.

March 12th, 2008Hong Kong (Part 2)

February 26th, 2008Cut my hair

My hair was super long and messy before I cut it today. I totally have no time to cut them latey… or maybe I am too lazy to cut. Haha…. Damn paisey lor… first time cut hair at a salon that i never went before… i always cut at the uncle there or at the auntie that I always go with Hong Wei… Went to an unknown place today…

Went in and the lady ask, “cut hair ar?”
I was thinking, ” obviously, if not i go salon buy food ar?”
I said, “Yea.”

Anyway, hair cutting session started.. it was damn long la.. but anyway happy with the result of my hair.

When my hair was cut, the radio was playing a song and the chinese lyrics goes like “Cry, cry, cry” and some of the hair that the lady cut drop on my nose and make it sensitive….=.=… i cried…. OMG…Still, conclusion, I like my hairstyle. haha

Saw Mark Lee today at Newton Food Center when we went to eat after wufang training. Mark Lee was with his wife and talking to Coach Vincent and then he went off.. He was tall and actually quite handsome. haha I actually quite respect him and his master, Jack Neo. Both of them “break things” (”突破”) for Singapore. Singapore need more people like them.

OMG, my routine I do sucks today lea… how to compete like that… stamina also went down…. Thanks a lot…. sigh… doing all 3 routines at RP tomorrow… hope all will go well and I better wake up.

February 10th, 2008Last day of “Bai Nian”

Though they give me luck, i still lost money after that… I lost around $8 I think… but haha had so much fun..

After that, Jaryl came but I left to find my friends.. We went to watch Kung Fu Dunk by Jay Chou… okay lah… didn’t really like the movie le…Reach home at around 3am.
